white spot...........

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Heat alone doesn't kill some strains of ich. I suggest doing a large water change(50%), then add salt. 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. I usually add 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons but thats me. Increase the temperature to 90 degrees. Be sure to add a powerhead or bubbler because warm water holds less oxygen. Do 20% water changes daily for a week, replace the salt that gets removed from the water change. Ich usually clears up for me in 3-4 days when I do this.

I live un the UK Wilkinson have to look for that in my lfc thanks fir your help. Is there anything else i can do? Should i leave th lights off?

Grrrrrrr so hard to write when you can't see what your typing on a phone with predictive text! Did you understand what i wrote?

Right, another day down still no change intact i think they are worse, no eating intact not much moment in all infected fish, i am really worried is there anything else i can do??

Make sure you are aerating more. Drop the water level so filters make more of a splash and add an air stone. The Heat/Salt treatment can eat up O2 quickly and O2 deprive your fish. If they are gasping at the bottom this is a sign. I know others swear by the heat/salt approach. I just use a malachite green/formalin medication and worked very well for me.

When I had white spot i dosed the entire volume of the tank with salt not all at once ( dose as stated on packet) turned my temp from 27 to 30 and did as monitorspidercichlid staed 25 percent water changes. when it gos clean your gravel out as im made to belive it resides in there and can cause secondry out break
