Hi,
I am new to stringrays, I just got 2 pup sized rays this Saturday. One of them is a female, which is the one in this picture, I noticed that there are multiple “white spots” on its disk, have no idea if those are bacteria, something bad, or they’re just something that the ray is born with? It starts eating massivore pellets on the second day, so I’m assuming its health condition is okay…..
Anybody knows what those “white spots” are?
Should I be concerned/worried about it?
If yes, what are the treatments for it?
Thanks in advance, any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.16142193_1361272893894619_5895138544525913331_n.jpg 16298472_1361272890561286_396161623080774846_n.jpg

Is there a heater IN the tank...this is an important question....also, parameters...ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH ???

A lot of times pups will have some markings on them like that. They disappear with time. I can't say 100% that's what it is, but it does look like that. Another pic may give a better view.

The reason for the heater question is that they are very susceptible to heater burns if there is an uncovered heater in the tank.
There is a heater in the tank, and it is displayed vertically in the tank and I havn't seen the ray actually laying or floating around the heater.
Besides, I noticed the white spots on the second day that I got her, so I don't think it was heater burn......
But thanks for the info!
It has been eating quite a lot, so I think it's still in healthy condition but just want to figure out what those white spots are.

There is a heater in the tank vertically, and I have never tested the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate level in my 10 years of fish keeping experience. pH is around 6.5
