I just meant fish in aquariums are less active than fish in the wild(calorically speaking).

Yes, they are less active and they have less space to find food unlike in nature. In fact, they all depend on you to get food and the needed minerals and vitamins they need....
If you've seen any nature videos, it's highly doubtful they have problem finding food.

It does seem mean not feeding daily but maybe not harmful(can be beneficial in some species)

Yes, I think it can. In nature some fish experience dry/wet season. They starve and die off during dry season. The survivors if any breed and proliferate in wet season. So breeding can be triggered this way for example. And there are other odd variants of that sort of environment but it's not a fish tank and if you want 100% survival and you are not a breeder, I wouldn't venture copying nature.

True, the foods/prey items in the wild are richer in nutrition, no doubt. Although it would not be uncommon for an ambush predator to go days with out eating(don't make me pull the fishery stats lol) in the wild

Predatory fish is a bit different and can be treated as such if need be because they eat a lot at one time. I am probably biased because none of mine are predatory fish.

And having said that, do you know how much a predatory fish eats at any one time before they find another prey? Because it's not like a 20 inch fish eats two guppies and forgets about food for the next couple of weeks....

Everything in this thread so far has been very speculative. Until someone brings in some actual research on the issue, I don't think the debate is ever going to be very productive. As it stands, it is just everyone's word against everyone else's. Bottom line for me, is that those of us only feeding several times per week have not seen any ill effects, and those feeding daily have not either (overfeeding/underfeeding is a separate and irrelevant issue, as far as I'm concerned), so it is hard to argue that either feeding schedule is "bad" without some sort of data supporting your premise.

I leave it up to you to disprove any statements...I personally have my own beliefs/experience, I could care less what you think. No offense, have a good night

Usually I feed every other day. Seems to balance out and all my fish are doing fine. My water parameters are always good with this feeding schedule. If I feed everyday I always had issues with nitrates two days prior to water changes!
