Who else still uses buckets?

I use a bucket on my smaller current tanks 2 tens and a 20 and plan to use one on the 75 I am getting saturday I may cange my mind after a few wc though. the bucket metod allows me to know how much water I am adding so I can dose my declor and so I can get the temp rightand in my guppy tank dose the salt properly .how do those of you using the python directly to the tank do this properly ?I am very bad at judging water amounts by eye and would be scared to do this
