Who feeds NLS?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry I lied a bit! I forgot to say that my fish are eating my left over NLS if I stuff it inside the frozen smelt I feed them.

My wild caught orinos go nits for it. They were trained on massivore before I got them and they did take several weeks of starving to accept the 3mm sinking a little so I ordered some 4.5 floating and they pounded it within two days.

My fish wouldnt touch the NLS when I tried it a few years ago.
That 4lb bucket went into the garabage.

You already know this, but I feed my 10" pins softened 10mm NLS.

Yes it takes several hours to soften. Over night is the best. It's a little inconvenient but not hard at all. But overall it's worth it.

I have always feed my SW fish NLS - and they love it.

Only way my piranhas have taken it is when I stuff it into krill.

Ill try with my bass when they are larger, right now them taking the 4mm hard pellets would just leave them "chewing" down on the bottom for 30 min.

Thinking about making the switch and wanted to see which cichla keepers feed NLS?

Pros I have found thus far:
4.125lbs for $50 (NLS 10mm) vs 2.2lbs for $43 (massivore)
9% ash maximum (NLS) vs 17% ash maximum of hikari
No soy products in NLS
No mystery starches and fillers in NLS
Made in good 'ol US of A

The only Con I have found is that it seems to be a bit less palatable to the fish vs Massivore.

Who has made the switch successfully and should i try 1mm or 3mm for 4"-6" growouts? (leaning towards the 3mm)

Try Xtreme aquatic foods, I've heard good things about it and you can get 2.5lbs for around $29
