I guess it started when i was really young, something like 5-6 years old. My parents had a 30 gallon tank with some barbs, danios, angelfish, some type of catfish. Then my little brother put some soap or bleach in there and killed them all. Then just this year, i picked it back up, and now ive got a 75 and 350 gallon tanks. :)

Getting a 5g with 2 feeder goldfish, kept them alive for three days, then, my sister, brother, and my dad bought a 20g with 3 goldfish.. man, I loved those goldfish.. and I was like 7-8 back then.. and I also got my sister and mom into the hobby... My sister had bought mickey mouse platies that were sold as Mickey Mouse Goldfish, and she kept the tank unheated, and they still thrived. My mom bought a 75g tank, and had bought 2 paradise fish, 3 tiger barbs, 1 common pleco, 2 spotted rafael catfish, 2 Oscars, and 2 red tailed sharks... the catfish moved to the 20g once I had it heated and decided to stop with goldfish.

My Dad. He used to raise a bunch of snakeheads, clown knives, cichlids, and bettas back in Thailand. It was inevitalbe. I get it from him. Mom has to deal with our obsession :grinyes:

I got goldfish at 4 YO and my first tanks at 7 YO a 10 gallon and 5 gallon homemade tanks made by uncle farmer.

My interest in fish first started when I was in first or second grade , I heard my cousin talking about a " fighting fish" and to a little kid the idea of fish fighting blew my mind! I was never allowed anything other then a betta bowl until I was about 18 and just decided to start buying aquariums for myself, it was at this time that I met my best pal and "fish mentor " Ben, after this meeting occured my interest in fish soon became an obsession! Thanks BEN!!!!

i won a goldfish from a fair, kept it alive in a cool whip bowl for like a week then put it in a goldfish bowl. then to a ten gal. where it died when it was 11" long. then i kept two baby bullheads in a 5 gal. bucket, then put them in a ten gallon tank where they grew to about 5 inches then went in my teachers koi pond. now ive got my oscar, bluegill, green sunfish, and my tiretrack eel, all in a 75 gal. hoping to get another 75 or an 80 to even out the load.
