They're also released all over in the US in warmer area's, at a local lake the owner of the lake had two huge fish tanks, one with bass (large mouth), and one with Crappie, all caught from his lake. In the crappie tank he had a 17" Buttikoferi he said his nephew caught when fishing for crappie and bluegill, pretty cool... It was probably living in that Cali lake for awhile.

He had no idea what it was.

Does anyone have one that is 13+"???? mine I raised from a small juvie and raised him in a 77 gallon alone. He seems to be roughly 11" although has not grown much since he hit that mark. How old were your midas's when they exceeded one foot??? I would say mine is about 18months old. I had him for a year now so I assume he was already about 3-6 months old when I got it. Is my guy topped out at 11"??? or do you think he can still get bigger???

This guy is about 13". I like his black markings. He's still growing (slowly), and his hump is definitely getting bigger.
