Who has got a Ford Pony... Mustang people

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I guess I'll keep it going.
Swapped the wheels between the two Roushs. Trying to sell the white one, and I want to keep the wider rims on the black car. (Plus I have an extra set of the earlier style on my Explorer in case I ever need them. LOL)

I picked up each one under 'special' circumstances that allowed me to get them for really good prices.
Got the 2000 back in 2002. It was traded in while I was at the dealer and I bought it the first time I saw it. (They priced it as a stock V6.) I picked up for a daily driver while living in Dallas. (My race car at the time was a '93 triple black vert with a 347.) Then slowly started modding it.
Black one I first saw in October of 2003 at a Roush event - wanted it ever since. When it went up for sale in Oct 2010, I had first option and scooped it up without blinking. Had it shipped to Miami. (Here's the thread about it with pics of it getting unloaded: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...ess-what-s-in-the....-fully-enclosed-trailer. )

What do you want out of it? What kind of budget?

My list with V6 Mustangs goes: Good suspension, 13" front brakes, cat back, wheels/tires. Those alone make for a much more safe and fun car to drive around.

I'm not looking for a race car as I have a pretty limited budget. My 3 kids and all these fish I have really limit the budget lol.

I just threw a flowmaster 40 series with a turndown on it today and it sounds quite a bit better but lost some bottom end, gained some top tho. It will be getting true duals with 2 flow 40's and the basic k&n in the stock airbox with aftermrket tubing running to the throttle body. I also cut the air intake silencer so it isn't as restrictive, but still pulls cold air from the fender well and not the engine compartment.

I think eventually the way to go is a turbo and mega squirt fms. Not enuff doe for that right now tho...

Here's mine, I've posted it on here before in another thread. I bought it new in '04, it's got a little over 40,000 miles on it now. It's a 5 speed, all stock except for exhaust. I still love the car, best purchase I think I've ever made.

I wouldn't waste time on the inlet pipe. The K&N drop in will give you just as much gain as adding a full cold air intake. Sounds like you have a good handle on the mods. I'd do suspenion and save up for a power adder down the line if that's what you are hoping for.
