I feed my bichirs feeder till now from baby cichlids, minnows, live bearers, frogs and weather loaches. I would like to feed them feeders goldfish, but for my arowana's sake I never drop any goldfish in the tank.
Always quarantine before feeding is a must.
Reason why I feed feeders to my bichirs is to maximize there growth as much as possible. I'm just not satisfied with pellets anymore as it make me spend more money, make my water tan and gives that awful smell after the feeding. It's like I have to get 3 bags of hikari massivore delite and 1 bag of hikari sticks and all gone in a week or two. With live I can breed them and growth them out (Although it takes time), I can also feed them more and save me more oney.
I'll be spending like $200+ every week if I only feed them pellets. Now I only spend about less than $40-$50 every month on fish food. Most of the spending are mostly from frozen foods. Imagine If I only have less than 10 fish. I'll probably be spending about less than $10 every 3 months or more on fish food.
