Sometimes they do seem to reach a maximum size early..some seem to stay right there but some do start growing again after a lull ... this one i have now never stops growing which i find so different since this is the biggest one i have grown or seen yet..
he is 13 inches now and for me in this short of time is great..
Looks great Liz. I want to know your secret because yours is growing faster than mine. Is it a secret food? Special music? Encouraging words? Maybe the water? We want the truth. Hook a BGK up.

Like i said in earlier post i am surprised too..since this is the first time i consider i am having success with BGK..the two i had in the past never thrived as this one.. so as long as yours is growing and eating good i would consider that success... "this one is just amazing to me.". he eats everything.. hikari "sinking" cichlid gold pellets, Hikari cat fish pellets ... frozen silversides and frozen krill, bloodworms and shrimp pellets .. the only thing he does not eat is algae wafers.. and i am glad because i have 2 baby plecos in with him and i want them to eat..
Even my hubby is amazed at this guy... he said this is the biggest one he has ever seen..
I have a BGK that is 14" and got him when he was as small as my little finger. I have had him about 4 1/2 years. Am going to move him to a larger tank and hope to see some more growth in the next couple of years.
