It's fed prawns, bloodworm, brineshrimp, daphina, glassoworm, tetra prima and what I think is helping the growth most JMC catfish pellets (47% protein). Also I believe the water changes help it's growth 50% twice a week.
Great diet,...wow keep up the good work and bring him back again in another month or two ..he just might end up being the biggest.. i am racing you.. mine is about the same size as yours:D :D

Haha. What size tank is yours in? Diet? I just managed to get a video of mine.

What is meant to be average growth for a BGK? I've heard it was slow, the previous ones I've kept all grew slowly but in 4-5 months with this one it's grown 5 inches. I'll have a look for some older pics of mine (if I have any) to show the growth.

Found a few older pictures... again they are poor quality and hard to make out what you are looking at. The pot's in the first picture are 4" long, though you can't see the whole BGK it should give some idea. Second was at about 3"

Mine is in a 55gal with 4 electric yellows{african cichlids} .. amazing growth on your boy.. you must get some really good pics to show him off.. i am trying to get some good ones of mine too..

I struggle to get good pictures of mine, I will try again tomorrow though, may even leave a plastic bottle in the tank with some food in it, then when he goes it take the bottle out of the water to take photos of. Only having a webcam to get photos doesn't help.

Also here's the video, not a great video but the BGK still features. He's being kept in a community style tank at the moment.-
