who has the oldest Arowana on MFK?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I cannot speak for the guys in the states, but around here, lots of the older Asian aros are traded in to farms for their breeding programs. There are many who actually do nothing but buy mature aros to resupply the farms hence why not that many keepers have aros that are more then a few years old. Speaking for myself, all my mature aros are transferred into fiber glass tanks for breeding purposes as well except for one.

so, uh, what happens to everybodiy's aros? you kill them off? SHouldn't they normally be living 10-15 years? Pretty sad that all these wonderful expert "monster fish" keepers can't keep their aros alive more than a couple of years.

Not pointing fingers... just curious. I am shocked that nobody has any older fish.. or perhaps those who do just keep quiet about it.

I've had neon tetras longer than 4 years...

I think alot of people trade their fish in before the 4 year mark, most people just get bored and want something new. Or they realize that the aro is just to big for their bank book.
