Hmm, this thread outta be interesting. I've never seen someone keep a fh alive longer than 5 years and supposedly they can live to 8-11 years >.>

Go to flowerhorncraze, you'll see lots of them. Even some of the original of the original still live their legend as of today. SML, KGM, MKML etc...:D

Yes, it is very possible. It's just base on how much care your willing to give to your fish. And when I talk about care, I mean absolutely baby your fish like its your own kid! Julie from FlowerhornsFromBeyond still have her 6 yeasr old Red ZZ. :D
 
I think a huge reason why Flowerhorns these days don't last as long as the older generations is because people nowadays pump their flowerhorns with food extremely high in fat/protein. Do you think if we just feed non "Specialized Flowerhorn Food", our fish would last longer?

I'm not leaving out poor tank size, cleanings and etc, I just think the leading cause of early Flowerhorn deaths are a result of diseases linked to too much fat/protein in their diet.
