Who has the oldest tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 75g glass tank that I've had for 5 years now.

just an FYI guys glass tends to be brittle as they age, that is proven and tested specially when the sun strikes it often, silicon also lose its prime overtime,so i just planned to replace a tank every 5-7 years (tanks are cheap in my place) you dont want a flooded room right? or a dead old fish in your steps otherwise keep a lungfish hehheh

Yea, I know it's past it's prime but it keeps on holding. The hex tank is made of insanely thick glass and the silicone is still soft and not brittle at all. I will retire it someday. I wish tanks were cheap here but there is no way I could afford to replace them that often. As it is 4 out of my 6 tanks were bought used.

to bad not everyone is as rich as you to replace tanks every 5 years LOL
buying a 240g every 5 years just sounds crazy :D
im nervous of my old 240g but im not replacing it or redoing it unless i have too
yes it will suck if it blows but ive seen new tanks on here blow so old or new they can blow ;)

well im not rich its just that tanks are really cheap in our place...What im saying is that if your fish is alot way expensive than the tank then why not buy an new one (example red arows) or maybe dismantle all the sides and re glue them all again ,that way o have a new tighter silicone

tanks ranging from 10 - 120 gallons is just $2 - $50 in my place regardless of the stand...tanks that exceed this capacity is way more expensive because of the glass' thickness

I have expriennced tank leaks and it was a mass carnage

I have one for 18 years already. Had to replace the sealant after it leaked last year.
