Who hates Win7?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I notice many LOVE vista since they upgrade to Win 7 or were using a old comp with Vista and bought another one with Win 7..... Doesn't say much

Windows 7 is pure heaven.

I love Win 7 so much more then Vista that I'm still using the R&D version on my desktop even though it turns my PC off every 2 hours on a timer that I haven't figured out how to bypass. When the $ is right I plan on buying Win 7, But for now I deal with the shut downs.

If it works, keep it. I was using 2000 at my last job while everyone else upgraded theirs to XP. Needless to say theirs would only last about a year or two before IT would have to replace it again but mine lasted over 6 years before they forced an upgrade against my will(I started in 2003... you do the math) and sure enough within 2 months they were out having to fix it from a hard crash.

Heck, I still have 98SE and ME (running great) but as someone else mentioned... it's hard to find software.

I've owned 3.1, 95, 98, ME, XP, Vista and 7

And have used NT and 2000

I've had the most trouble out of XP. The problems I've had with ME is a lack of supporting software(even when new and it doesn't like to network)

Edit: I also have 2003 server

I think I read someone on the internet about editing the registry to fix a similar issue, may have been for the Windows Activation though.

I loved 98SE and 2000 Pro. Those were my favorite operating systems. ME was dumb. Should have never come out. Only issues on every computer. Xp was great and still is, vista should have never came out, same ball park as ME. Win 7 is .......ok but I hate it.

I run XP at work, Vista on my 5yr old PC and 7 on my brand new laptop.

Vista is the most intuitive to use but bogs down
I'm not loving 7 at all; still learning it's quirks. Outlook is gone so having to visit "The cloud" to get emails is annoying.
XP runs like a clock.
I do not judge a program based on it's start up time but Vista and 7 are not fast by any definition.
Know what I find i'm using most for my purposes?

DROID.
