Discovery doesn't breed destruction, exploitation does.

People discover thing in order to exploit them and discovery always requires some level of destruction.

On history channel the other night, this squid team in mexico caught on camera video of a squid they estimated to be 108 feet long. i think that qualifies as a sea monster.

You're talking about that episode of MonsterQuest and IIRC it was 60' long.

i do too, have you guys ever of the "bloop" monster? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloop Something is out there. Be great to hear some real seafaring fishermen sea monster stories...

Hadn't heard of that before, thanks for the link

I definately think there's something out there. Anybody catch the episode of Chessie where they recorded echo-location that didn't match the noise of any known creature. Not saying that I totally believe that legend, but its still very interesting. There's so much area that we haven't explored I'd be suprised if there WEREN'T monsters down there.

the mermaid is a nice photoshop.

anyone else think the recording of the bloop monster sounds like a big bubble escaping from somewhere?

its not photoshop.

a guy in the 1700's 0r 1800 actually sewed a monkey and fish together and sold it off as a mermaid.

its in the Ripleys Museum here in Hollywood

the dragon is cool lookin. doesnt look like any dinosaur ive seen... but im no expert either

Think what you want but I saw the Ogopogo in Okanagan Lake about 27 years ago.
It swam right under my grandfathers boat.
Way bigger than a sturgeon or anything like that. 4 x the boat. Which was about 12 feet. So maybe 48 feet.
We were about 100 yards from shore. Close to whatever bridge crosses the lake. As it passed under us it rolled on it's side rather than dive and looked like a giant snake undulating back and forth.
I have never gone swimming again. Except in public pools. But even then, as I'm climbing out I feel the monster sneaking up on me to snatch me off the ladder. I try to be cool and grown up about it. But at the last second I panic and jump out quick.
And I sure don't go in muddy water if I can't see what's in it.
No exaggeration. No BS.
Well...I did not see it break the surface. So I can't say if it was a reptile or fish or whatever. Some say it is a mammal with fur like a seal a head like a horse.
But it was BIG.
Nobody believes me though. Not even my family members that were in the boat. They were all looking at an amphibious plane taking off that seemed like it might hit us.
And no it was not just the shadow of the plane. The plane wasn't that close. I don't know what they were worried about. I was worried about the Ogopogo.

i definitely believe theres stuff out there.
we've just never seen em.
maybe not nessie and all that.
but theres definitely stuff undiscovered out there.
