Who here ever driven to canada from the U.S.?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah - that was me. I went over Niagara Falls also - they did do a routine search of the car, but did not open bags, but that was before 9/11. I am sure they probably search bags now.

But, I am surprised you'd risk telling the law enforcement about it. You are. I am sure they're reading this....

LOL I never mentioned what I was bringing back, until I state whatever my intent is, then and only then, can it be deemed good or bad. About what you said about law enforcement reading this, they have bigger fish to fry, and did you know many officers around my area keep asian aro's themselves? Food for thought;)

I didn't know. Do share....

In 2004 me and a few of my friends were going to Vermont for a concert. Well, we took a wrong turn and ended up on a one way street to Canada. We got to the Canadian border and told the officers what had happened and they said just go turn around up the road and go back to the states. Well, we did that and got back to the U.S. border and thats when things got crazy. They opened EVERYTHING. All 3 of us got searched (our person) and they almost took all of our beer(American beer). I'm sure these circumstances will be different than what you will encounter, but I'd be careful. It took all of 2 minutes for them to tear into every part of our car.

If these officers are kind enough to show you their Asian aros, just get one from them. It will save you a lot of time and money. You're in Cali anyways...I hear about the good stuff over there all the time.

Well unless you're an F&W officer, its illegal. And if these officers are kind enough to show you their Asian aros, just get one from them. It will save you a lot of time and money.

I never mentioned what I was bringing back, I may just bring back a legal rare fish for all we know? lol..

I've been back and forth across the US/Canadian border many times. I will say getting into Canada is ALOT easier/quicker than getting back to the US. Usally its a quick glance at your passport (before all you needed was a birth certificate), a few general questions, and you're on your way.
Only once was I stopped going into Canada. I was helping my friend who was moving to Montreal and we had a SUV full of furniture and other crap. We both had long hair, scruffy clothes, you know ... But they pretty much emptied the car, checked all our bags, did a real good search of everything we had and sent us on our way. Just make sure your car is really clean, because I've heard some stories of people getting stopped at the border, and one little thing can cause some suspicion, and out come the latex gloves if you know what I mean. No Fun. :thumbsdow

Modify your gas tank to hold safe water and put them there. Enough fuel for 50 miles...like 3-4 gallons gas...seperated by an internal wall and full of water. Put them there;) .
