Idk about that, snakeheads and catfish in asian comes out of the water to grab an chicken, cat or small puppy.not I, leave terrestrial food to terrestrial pets IMHO. no fish ever crawled up and cracked an egg or killed chicken, or took down a cow to eat its heart. Just not good for them.
Doesn't form a large part of their diet thoughIdk about that, snakeheads and catfish in asian comes out of the water to grab an chicken, cat or small puppy.
You'll never know till you see it, i leave in a province in philippines beside a river bank and ive always fish for catfish and tilapia in the rivers, ive seen some catfish that waits in the same spot of the water under the same tree where birds makes nest, chicks falls in the water same as egg and guess who eats them fisrt.Doesn't form a large part of their diet though
Certainly there are fish found in all parts of the world that will take advantage of an egg, a duckling, a baby beaver, even a fig, if/when the opportunity presents itself. I too have witnessed this in nature ....... but that has nothing to do with feeding polys cat food.
I also understand that some people feed dog/cat food to their fish, and that it can be done, my point is that over the long haul it is not a healthy manner in which to feed the vast majority of tropical fish.
If someone can provide evidence that high levels (min 20% in this formula) of terrestrial based lipids (such as canola oil) are healthy (long term) for polys, then please step up to the plate and provide that evidence.
Otherwise take some free advice from someone that has read scores of papers on this subject over the years. Dog/cat food is not designed for the long term health of fish. If you are looking for a lower cost option, there are some aquaculture vendors that will ship large bags of commercial fish foods, designed for tropical fish.
slow and steady wins the race. I'm just feeding 3x a week, slowish growth but sens are slow.No prob, glad to help. IMO slow & sure growth is generally the best way to grow out fish. But I get it, everyone wants to see faster gains when fish are younger/smaller, including me!![]()
