Who here has the biggest fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I see alot of posts like: "Check out my new baby" ect. Have any of you guys successfully kept a fish and gotten it to grow to massive proportions or do they all just misteriously die? Anyway, Who's got the grand daddy of all monster fishes. Post your best. :headbang2

The largest monster I have seen in a home aquarium was a 15 inch Tilapia. The kind of tilapia you eat, his dad got it for him at a fish market. It was viscous but it's dead can't post pics. But anyways some of the other peeps on here I'm sure have larger fish alive then that.

this is a very good point we do see loads of people posting look at my new baby RTC or TSN but how many people grow them to adult size and we dont see many over 2ft

:(

I live near berkeley CA, and there's a pretty decent aquarium industry over there. Anyway, there's a pond up in the hills where I've seen a lot of koi/ bass/ other monster fish that people have dumped. It's like buying a St Bernard puppy and then letting it go in a field of tall grass. People suck.

My best is a 24inch leichardti.

People can beat that though. There are some monster silvers around.

I've got a 24+ silver arowana, but that is almost considered small on MFK!

Arapaimags got some 40lb pacu, 4' wallago cats, used to have a 6' 120 lb arapaima :)
My personal best was a 3" silver aro and currently a 32" electric eel.

i've seen in my LFS 3 48" silvers....3 6" arpaimas...6 15" Clown Loach (the biggest i've seen w/ my own eyes), 1 36" blacks (which is very nice, perfect specimen and am considering to grab it)...and you guys WILL be suprised on how much it costs...it costs ONLY $65! yes..it's only $65 BUT given that i am in Indonesia...$65 is worth about 2 weeks pay of a regular employee...
