clown loaches get 15"...? i thought they maxed out at 8"?

The largest I've heard of was 20" at the New York aquarium.

I've seen a few 12" to 14" in my area. Bill Gibbons in the Woodstock area of Ontario has raised many from 1 inch to the 12 to 14 inch range. I feed mine smelts as well as the regular pellets, flakes, guppies(live) and cocktail shrimp.
I saw one in a pet shop in Cleveland a few years ago about 15"+ that would eat 6 goldfish feeders at a meal. Until I saw that I did not realize that they became predators when they got bigger.

oh yeah..they got BIG....given that the botia is from Indonesia, i'm pretty sure that the lfs offer for sale are wild caught....Kalimantan island to be exact....dunno the exact rivers though or whether it shares the same river with super red arowana...i actually never seen them THAT big before...i find it as a surprise as well

i would've gotten them but don't have the space for them in my tank, and i'm pretty sure they want a hefty price for them (still cheap if you calculated in USd$ terms...i would guess around USD $30 - $40/each)..i'm lookin for 2,5" botias...and i just asked the price this afternoon and they asked USD$ 80cents/each....and i'm offering USD$60 cents/each...i believe that the fair market price for them is around USD$60cents - 70 cents/each

The biggest fish I've ever had was "Admiral Ackbar", my Tiger Oscar! (Look at the Admiral Ackbar character in Star Wars, then go look at an Oscar...'nuff said!) I miss him. I had him for a very long time. He loved playing with ping pong balls..I'd toss them in his tank, and he'd spit them back at me! When he started acting unwell, I was going nuts...towards the end, I had him propped up, with aerators bubbling for him. I'd called the cool lfs, and she said to bring him in. The only thing I could fit him in was this huge coleman cooler I have. When I got him there, she said she didn't realize just how big he was, and she thought he was probably dying of old age.

When my family went and visited the Shedd Aquarium, it was pretty heartwarming, when we got to the Oscars, to hear my son ask one of the staff there "Where are the big Oscars? These are all babies compared to my mom's"!
