How do you get your fish on pellets mine will only eat live and frozen food

have one that's about 10 inches. never does pellets. only live and frozen but, only if i shake it around so it looks like it's alive. they're pretty cool fish to own and really slow growers. i hand feed mine frozen shrimp and squid and it's pretty awesome when they gulp food from your hands.

I've been only feeding pellets to my other fish for about a week so he must've finally got hungry enough to eat them. You just gotta starve them a little while

I tried stocking my farm pond after having it dredged to 15' deep with Bass with no success. This was at least eight years ago. I caught 7 LMB all in the 8" to 12" range and a SMB slightly larger. Long story short, they NEVER did breed. I have had nothing but good luck with the Minnow & Bluegill populations in the pond reproducing.

The pond is a natural spring fed well over 100' in diameter.

I found the SMB 1,000,000x more interesting than the LMB's. I threw hundreds upon hundreds of feeder goldfish in for both food and to add some color to the pond. Now the SMB was truley a beast hunting these goldies down.

Best analogy I can come up with of the comparison of aggressivness between the LMB and the SMB would be:

SMB = The Terminator. ("I'll be bok")
LMB = The Robot on Lost in Space. ("Danger Will Robinson")

I currently have one that is about 7 inches long. I just about got him onto pellets :D He's one of my favorite fishes and has a kool personality. Doesn't bother my other fish and watches people in the room haha

When I had my bass it would be staring at me from the time I came into the room until I left, it was almost kinda creepy lol. They're great fish, very hardy and quite personable.

The only problems I see with bass are that many are illegally captured (its illegal to net gamefish in most states, and many individual bodies of water have size limits). I know for a FACT that several people on here have gotten theirs this way...

Also, many end up being kept in tanks that are way too small, or in less than ideal conditions. I realize that most other species of fish end up in bad situations as well, but for some reason it is often considered more acceptable with natives...

I thank those of you who got your bass legally, and that realize they will likely need something in the 6'x2'-8'x3' range to keep an adult!
