IMHO the D90 is a very hard camera to learn if it is going to be your first SLR. It is a pro camera where the D80 is a semi pro but does the exact same job. I am very happy with the D80 and the price has gone down a bit since the D90 came out. If you really want to go for a camera whithout to many bells & whisles to learn you can't go wrong with the D80. If you want to go for it , it does do video footage but not the same quality as the D90. But saying that I am going for a seperate video camera any way. In the end it is your choice. No one else can make that choice for you. Your best bet is lots of research. Go to a camera shop and see which camera you will be more comfortabl with. Hold each camera and test the weight and if it is too heavy. Don't just go for it if it isn't comfortable in your hand.:)

i have the exact same setup d80 wit 18-135
mind sharing ur settingfor those pics? :)

I also have an SB800 speed light which makes a hell of a difference to the detail.

Here are the settings any way. :)

f/stop ~ f8

exposure time ~ 1/60

ISO ~ 100

Focal length ~ 130 mm

Max aperture ~ 5

Metering mode ~ Pattern

Also I shoot my fish pictures in medium frame as it give you more to work with when you crop the pics.

Hope that helps :)
