some good info on it thanks for posting that

Sniper,

Indeed great info  I appreciate it. I checked that forum and read up on it. Some members there have it and like it.

What I am not sure about is the price:
- The 1262 pump is $10 more than the 1260 pump,
- however, the 2262 canister is $130 more than the 1260 :irked:

Still contemplating.

130$ can buy some nice fish if you think about it that way;)

2260 LOVE IT.
2x1262 LOVE THEM TOO.
I own a 2260 that has a 1260 in it obviously. I also own two 1262 pumps for both my sump set ups.

There was a post about turning a 1260 into a 1262, I can not find that thread anymore. Its floating around somewhere online.

Going to buy a 2262 sometime after I find that part for my 1260. The difference in the 2260/2262 is not just the pump, 2262 comes with quick connects also. Everything else is EXACTLY the same.

Found it. Part is 7443670. When this part comes in, my 2260 will be converted into a 2262. What a deal for only 10 bucks - shipping.

I own a 2260 and 2262, the 2262 since 2007 paid close to $700 Canadian dollars, at the moment its not in operation; i had to sell my tanks for relocation but slowly I'm coming back, so hopefully it will be in operation soon.
I was running on a 180 gallon bare bottom tank with 30 fully grown discus, also on this tank i had a ocean clear.
What i remember its a great filter, but i don't think it worth the extra money for the pump and the quick disconnects, i love also my 2260 to me its the best filter out there.
When I said its not worth the extra money for the pump, you can buy i used 2260 and upgrade the pump, or sell the 1260 pump ang get 1262; or get something else, its what i did with the 2250.

LOVE the big eheims..

I would totally consider the 2262 if not for the price. The price over the 2260 is well worth it if you consider the cost of both the pump upgrade and the shut off valves.

I have a 2260 and it is the best work horse I have ever had. Newer cannisters have come and gone, but the 2260 is still on a canter, after years.
