i couldnt agree more... i dislike these types of threads, the ones where the OP will ask what fish they should buy or what fish to put in their tanks. it should be the OP own decision since they will be taking care the of the fish.

no offense to the OP ;) but i prefer both? silver because of the color. jar becuase they are shapped like an asian aro. ive owned both and i wish i could keep em both in the same tank, but it didnt work out :(
Read post #9 of this thread. ;) But I really don't have a problem with threads like what you described, sometimes people just have a hard time deciding which fish will be the best choice for them so they gather opinions from others to help make the decision. And sometimes it turns out to be a good thing that they decided to post the thread, like when one of their options would be too aggressive, or get too big, etc. So I really don't see why people would have a problem with those threads.

I raised a silver from 5 inches to about 15 inches. I like 'em. I sold him and recently purchased a 4 inch jardini. It's my first jardini, so I have not had adequate time to compare the jardini to the silver. I hear that jardini are quite aggressive, as they grow. My silver was a food hog, but he never attacked or showed any aggression towards any other fish.

silver because more often than not i can combine it with other community fish with higher success.

A lot of people are picking the silver over the jardini because of it's ability to be in a community tank. Would that mean if the jardini isn't as aggressive, people would pick it over the silver? Please clarify.

actually it is a matter of personal preference ... but jardinis do look more colourful over silver aro. But if you have a pond, the silver do look more majestic and graceful swimming in it.
