Who still uses undergravelfilters?

My coworker uses one on his 55 with three red belly pirahnas,he wont even consider anything else.
 
I had one once, It worked pretty well... The water wasn't really clear, when you lift them up your in for a surprize though............ hehe.....

They have their place.

What matters is water quality, if it's not there, it will be easy to convince him to add on.

If the water quality is good, learn from him.

I run several with great results, just keep the media vacuumed and stirred. (I also run every other type of filter out there too).

I still run one on one of my tanks. I feel if your going to run one there better to be run as a revers flow.

hahah yeah.. i lifted my UGF in my old 55 gal.. :WHOA: it was crazyy how much crap was in there. lol i took mine off cause my tt eel would constantly hide in there so yea
