Who thinks this will work

Speaking from my experience, and going off of what I've read on tats, I think you'll be fine. Tats don't seem to be to aggressive, obviously there will be some bickering, it's large predatory fish, generally Tats stay towards the bottom from what I know? Correct me if I'm wrong. Odoes stay mid to top. Which will help. Now a tat bite is different from a wolf bite, I will agree on the odoe may freak out shortly IF bitten but that's never lasted long with mine it's only ever been when she tries to get away and when she is separated from the other fish she's fine, though this isn't to common. But I will say again, is the only one I've kept, not every situation is the same. And Al has more experience with them than I do, and he has it with multiple specimens, maybe they just act different when solo, maybe not. Regardless, let us know what you decide on and good luck. Oh and tinfoils grow fast and may make the atf timid. Bala Sharks might grow slower though or at a similar pace which may be better. Though they may not be able as hardy, so maybe tin foils are your best option.

Yes the tats normally stay quite low in the water, and apart from aggression within their group if they can't eat it they don't bother it.. I swear there is a new alpha every 2-3 weeks

When I kept Tats they were pretty aggressive. I remember them being worse then Armatus......

I've kept groups of Odoe cause they stay super close and they seem much less likely to be bothered by other fish IF there's a presence of a big group of them. When the groups shrink it becomes obvious they're better off/less skidish in numbers. Takes a lot more to spook 6-7 then it does 3. There's been plenty of people out there that have or do only keep 1, but with the fish I keep I just feel they're way better off in a decent sized group or there might not be any....

Keeping just one may very well work for you. Just cause it doesn't work for one person doesn't mean another can't do a little something different and get it to work. Hopefully one way or another, with or without advice, it ends up working. Nobody likes wasting money on loosing fish - Ain't nobody got time for that..... lol

I agree on the not losing fish part lol My lfs has a 6" odoe in stock I might try to get next week... What does everyone think of maybe dats or flagtails?

flag tails get quite large, though they seem to take long getting there, biggest i read of was posted here i think he said it was a little under or 20 inches. I couldn't help on the dats, don't know much, they seem peaceful but like they hold their own. And DB, you do keep them with a bit of a rowdy stock so maybe theres our difference, cause my tank is very calm, i actually want something else to liven it up but don't know what to add if i were to, id likely have to grow it out as well. time will tell.
