Who will be getting Battlefield 3?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
got, beat it on hard, now ready for multiplay. so much better then call of dookie...lol

you guys are crazy. i played the beta for bf3 and although it was good, and a def change of pace to cod, by no means is it even close to being better. take a look at some of the trailers, and previews for mw3, that game is going to be crazy good. there is a reason why cod is the best selling gaming franchise. bf3 is good, but i've got mw3 ordered, can't wait till tuesday. look me up on xbox live, my gamertag is the same as on here

LOL I have seen the trailers and the graphic are still no compareasone. COD has way too many glitches and just about every one try to be a rambo instead of team play, where BF3 is geared for team play. you get more point for playing as a team and completing the goals unlike COD were it doesnt matter if you are rambo or a team, u still get the same amount of point. One of the best part of BF3 is you can not quick scope, which is awsome. Meaning you actually have to take aim at your target. More skill required.
Sells of bf3 broke the cod sell records within 24 hours, so this year i dont think cod will have game of the year....then again that all depends on which gameing magazine you read lol
I have cod mw3 on preorder and ill pick it up , who know it might be better but i have my douts. mw2 was the worse of the cod and hopefully its better but from the reviews i seen its just a gloryfied black ops with new skin but still running off the old engine. If cod going to keep up with bf3 it need to update its graphic display and game engine. :)

i've never played any of the bf games. i became a big fan of fps and cod and only started playing since waw. i have mw3 on preorder

i'm thinking about buying bf3 just to see what all the hype is about

I was about to buy it then I noticed that it had only two 5 stars and 250+ 1 star ratings. When I took a look as to why it was trashed on Amazon everyone mentioned EA taking liberties with privacy. Collecting all sorts of information that makes no end to a gaming experience, either play the game and give up every scrap of private info just to play a game or go without. It is in the terms and conditions upon installation apparently. The comments read as though people were fuming as many companies don't take pc games back if the seal is broken, here in the UK anyway, and there was no mention of how much privacy you would have to give up on the box.
The new software introduced, can't remember its name, was being blamed for many people taking/sending their copies back too.

I guess I won't be indulging EA this time as it sounds just like spyware to me.

not sure i understand correctly. so when you install the game, it asks you for a whole bunch of private info before you can install and play??

I have the game, it's amazing. The multiplayer alone makes the game worth getting, the campaign's nothing special.
The only problem I have with it is the platform, Origin.

As you go through the installation wizard you are asked if you agree with the terms and conditions and almost everyone does not read these and automatically clicks "agree". Well it seems people have started to read them and they are going mental about a particular paragraph:

"You agree that EA may collect, use, store and transmit technical and related information that identifies your computer (including the Internet Protocol Address), operating system, Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware, that may be gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, dynamically served content, product support and other services to you, including online services. EA may also use this information combined with personal information for marketing purposes and to improve our products and services. We may also share that data with our third party service providers in a form that does not personally identify you."

They basically want to know stuff that is nothing to do with them. If you want to play the game then you must agree to be spied on by them. The Amazon page: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294
Aparently the game is good but many are saying its not THAT good to allow EA to snoop on stuff that doesn't concern them, everyone is screaming spyware. Apparently the game is incredibly difficult to remove from a pc as well and EA mean it when they say get a specialist to remove the manual elements of the game/spyware. One comment actually states they have isolated the "infected" pc as it is so difficult to remove and it is no longer used for any personal use. This Origin thing has been slammed as well.

In a nutshell they want to spy on everything you have and do on the pc, including other programs, movies, websites, etc. I was looking forward to it but I won't be buying it now.

strang, i read mine when i installed it and it said nothing of the sort. when i installed the use agreement talked about user rights, what happen when caught cheating and the sort, nothing was ever mention anthing your talking about.

when i installed it on my pc the only thing mention was info gather on the game itself... it says nothing about going through your pc and logging you personal info. Ehey are not just takeing any random info its all info thats need for the game to run smoothly.

the post u show is just some random guy posting, there no proff to back the statement up other then himself. When you look to see what else he wrote youll discovered nothing which makes me think he just yaking out the mouth.

a guy said it best when posting on a comment from the post u mention

Are you serious? Every webpage you have ever visited logs your personal IP, as well as every program which needs online access. The "pirate programs" you so articulately mention are actually called proxies, are in no way illegal and can infact STILL be traced back to your personal IP in most cases. Please, if you dont know what you are talking about, dont post. :)
