exactly as Woofy says. The dynamics are ever changing.
I have no Viejas ( do not like them ) byut from what I see, Syns males are unsupportable.

I would add about syns... I added my bigger male at 3" in a tank with 11" brutes and he ha held his ground through his submissive tactics. Its hard to describe but ive always been successful in adding certain species at 3-4" to a tank of brutes. That male syn in now 6" and i just added his 4" lady to the mix.(but i dont recommend this) just sharing some experiences.

When females are ready for breeding, even if you don't tell them apart, the males will...you'll notice!
Do not mix Festaes in that mix of your's.
They get as big as Midas, but they take an inordinate amount of time to grow and, before that, are one of the shyest breeds you have. They will die in that mix unlessyou put in an a big bull already.
Too precious to experiment with. Get a big Mayan ( Uropthalmus ). I have one that copes very well.
I would stay on the Amphilophus wagon, mainly, Just.
I would not put a Dovii in there. You do not have such a big a tank and you ( DO NOT GET ME WRONG ) are running the risk of experimenting too much. Nor would i put Viejas in there.
I would have to disagree. If a larger vieja is added i dont see a problem. They can hold their own quite well from my experience. Conflicting info yes but its different experiences that need to be shared.
