I listen to metal,bands like Kreator,destruction,bathory,burzum,immortal,moonblood,death,cannibal corpse,obituary,pustulated,absu,dark funeral,to be honest my list can keep on going.I think in general when people say "I grew out of it".He or she wasn't truly into metal at all and just did it as a trend,just to be "cool"

Im kind of suprised at how many people listen to metal and and keep fish, I didn't realize there is such a correlation. I like mostly medolic death metal myself and listen to: Arch Enemy, Five Finger Death Punch, All That Remains, Scar Symmetry, As I Lay Dying, Devildriver, Parkway Drive, Fear Factory, In Flames, The Agonist, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, Rob Zombie, Eluveitie (Awesome Celtic Folk Metal), and a few others. I agree with what was said above me, I don't believe you really grow out of metal, its an either you love it or hate it kind of thing for the most part.

I'm not so much into new metal, I think that scream-o stuff is super lame... There are some newer bands I do like, I just haven't heard anything that isn't just a bunch simple riffs in drop D... Anyhoo just my opinion :]
