Theres a lot of threads wanting to see who's got the nicest or the biggest, but how about respect for those (fish & fish keepers alike) who have had a fish for the long haul? I mean the fish that have made it past the 10 yr mark. Got one even older? I wanna see it. Lets see all the grumpy old farts out there.

The longest living fish in my tank is not cichlid, but three clown loaches. I have them for over 8 years, still growing and showing no sign of aging. I read that they don't even reach sexual maturity until they are 10+ years old and a foot long. Mine are between 6 to 7 inches, so still a long way to go.

Most cichlids have life expectancy under 7 years. For long live fish, try Koi and Arrowana which can live for 100 years.
