I wouldn't recommend it if you have kids running around though.

i do have kids running around....but they know not to pass the crx.

I used to have a 55gal on the ground, about a month after putting it on a stand it burst

i had a 55 gal on the ground i mean i did not have problem changing the water as i hooked up the python to the facuet outside

used to have a 29g on the ground..never had a problem at all except for dog hair getting in the tank easier

Just today we finished building a TV stand/tank stand. It turned out pretty cool since my husband's a heavy equipment mechanic and not a carpenter lol It's got the 75 g under it right now and the TV on top, the tank sits 8" or so off the ground-do that count? We made it tall enough to hold a 90 g tank. I've run out of floor space for tanks so I'm having to start stacking.

ive got a 60gallon shrimp/snail tank set up on the slab in the backyard... its sitting on cement blocks only to keep it high enough that dogs cant pee in it..

I had a tank on the ground, it sucked. water changes are a pain, and you can't see the fish unless you lie on the ground. stands are way worth it!

i had my 55 gal on the floor until this past weekend (thanks to dracor, you rock) but it was really simple doing water changes and whatnot. the siphon worked just fine i dont know what you guys are talkin about??

I have a 30 gallon that I keep on cinderblocks stacked 2 high. It keeps the tank off the floor and I think it looks just fine.
