It would be nice if Peterson has 5 star years left in him since I'm a Vikings fan. I don't know though w/ the way he plays and runs standing up.
if he stays healthy man

but you can also get away with a subpar QB if you have a solid running game and stellar D (ravens a couple years ago) all in all one player doesnt make a team. I was just saying in my eyes the best player on the offensive end was Johnson.

Unless you're the Indianapolis Colts ( I love the colts, but even Reggie wouldn't look good without the Mayor ). Peyton Manning is the most brilliant mind playing football at the moment. Don't get me wrong, the Brees, Rogers, etc are good, but Manning is ridiculous. 1 guy makes the team in this case....

I'd pick Peyton Manning first because he's still a top 3 QB and the best leader in football. Then I'd pick Revis and Jared Allen to shore up the defense. I'd build around those 3 and the receivers wouldn't matter so much because Manning is so good that he'll find a way to get average receivers the ball.

I agree with almost everything u said, BUT Reggie Wayne is a star no matter where he is playing. Don't underestimate him because he doesn't run his mouth all the time like these other prima donnas. Peyton makes his life easier but Wayne makes Manning's easier too a lot of the time. Wayne is a legit top 10 receiver in the NFL.
Also, the nature of the game is that the QB is disproportionately important. Yeah, occasionally there are some (sorta) exceptions, but even then the QB can't pull a Delhomme and expect his team to win consistantly. Unless you were starting a FANTASY football team instead of a real football team, there would be no reason to do anything except choose a top tier QB. This premise is assuming you have 1st pick and it's for ONE YEAR ONLY- throwing age and longevity into the mix clouds the issue of who the best is RIGHT NOW. It's too easy to rail against anyone who doesn't pick PMANNING 1st. Only excuse would be personal emotions (like being a Pats fan or something).

I'd still pick Brees over Manning. Three years younger and his numbers have always been great also. I think Brees should've won MVP last year, but some people are just stuck so far up Mannings junk that he won. His team had a little better record by one game, but his numbers were worse across the board.
