sorry for your loss.I had an aro jump a few yrs back and couldn't find it around the tank,in the filter no where.4 days later my wife found it in front of the tank it was in.We believe it jumped and the cat decided it was toy lol

Unfortunately I grew up during Ozzy's weaker years. Lita Ford collaborations and whatnot. On the plus side Lita Ford gave a young me a ton of confusing swelling. I didn't even know what was going on, hilarious. By the way if Lita is reading this, I know what I wanted to do now.

The dead or undead fish is the bigger Jag with less contrast. I haven't vented any of these guys yet, just my usual ignorant speculation. I've been guessing based on myths i've heard about their dorsals and markings along the lateral line. I had originally guessed that the 2 big ones were males while the Dovii and the small Jag were chicks. I'm betting I am at least right with the Dovii, it was the smallest least colorful fish out of the 12 in the tank at That Pet Place and that's usually a decent indicator. (If they weren't 12 bucks I would have picked up a few.) I know its way too early but if you feel like tossing around any wild guesses or theories I wouldn't hold it against you, I like me some speculation. By the way are you running a store over there in Jersey? I'm big on dragging at least one of my kids to fish stores almost weekly.

Im sitting here with my little ones listening to Sabbath now. my 3yr old son and 2 yr old daughter are moshing I think and my son has my motorcycle helmet onokay thats enough derailing on my part. Sorry man.
Just so you know,even though I use the color and dorsal marks,pointed and rounded fins etc on small fish it's not always accurate-actually not very accurate at all. Like I said.and its just my opinion,its pretty hard to sex a fish that small.I would have done the same as you though-grab the most colorful one and dullest one etc but even them dull ones may turn out male.There's dominant males and males that are lets say,"punked" that may show no color at all.Then you get it home and a few months later etc it pops and you have 2 males...oops...I have had the palest fish of the batch that was the last to be picked in tanks turn out to be the best looking fish of the bunch when all the others were gone.Then it wound up in my personal stock.

Right on. I only got 3 kids yet though. 4 years old 2 years old and 3 months. They like to rock as well. When the time comes for new fish i'll check your inventory and shoot you a PM and see if your down for a visit. Thanks for your input, and let's hope that my tank isn't a runt sausage fest. If that's the case i'll definitely need a new Dovii soon.
Nate I'm not sure if i'll be there yet. Having all these kids makes making definite plans difficult. If I can I will though, i'm down in Downingtown so it's not that far. Thanks for your input as well man.

I'd say top right corner is definitely male. I'm up in the air on the rest.I don't like sticking my arse out there.I hate being wrong and bite my tongue if I dont feel 100%.I will probably be at that meet as well. hopefully you can get away for the day. Bring the kids with ya-I'm sure I will have at least one of my mini fish keepers with me.
