The trade for Leptobotia elongata is almost non-existent. I don't believe anyone still has those loaches. Leptobotia pellegrini though are another story but these ones don't reach sizes beyond 8-10 inches.

A lot of loaches especially those in botia genus relish invertebrates a lot.;)

So? Mine go crazy over pellets, but it doesn't make it a recipe for "fast" growth...

That my loaches grow very fast :D. No seriously, loaches love molluscs (snails) and mussels seem a good substitute. My loaches average about 1.5 to 3 inches per year up to about 5 inches then 1 to 1.5 inches per year above 5 inches in length. I believe that mussels put the loaches into more of a feeding frenzy than other foods hence the growth rates.
