see like i said for the cichla intermedia http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...ad.php?t=65236 he is know seeling it cause he needs the money y did u buy it in the first place..and 10k for an arrow i dont care if it ****s 20 dollar bills i still wouldnt buy it if i had the money..its a waste on one fish

its funny people say things cause they dont have the luxary to pay the heavy price tag on fishes so they think it weird that someone else would spends that amount on a single fish. if you made over 1 million dollars a year, what is $5000 on a fish if you know it is only pocket change. what does it matter to you how someone else spends their hard earned money???

what do you think someone who isnt into fishes thinks about you and why you would waste your money on fishes that doesnt do anything except swim around and cost you money??? im sure you would tell him the same..why does it matter to them how you spend your money???

i agree though supply and demand is the deciding factor on cost of fish. remember who leo rays were $250 each. now you can't find one that is under $1k

wateva im done with this...

Just checked back today in this topic. Man did it explode. LOL

But anyways, the point is, Some Can and some Can't. Some Will and Some Won't.

It all depends on the level you fall into and where you set your limits and boundaries.

But in the end. It all comes down to 2 questions:

"How bad do you want it?" and "How much are you willing to pay to get it?"

If those 2 work out in favor of the fish you will get then you get to have a new fish that you love in your tank.

Anyways, this topic has gone round and round. It's a good read but trying to explain why people spend this much money on a fish when your mind is already set thinking it's "ridiculous" or "stupid" then there is no sense in trying to explain it further. The people who are able to pay the $$$$ for the fish understand that not everyone is willing to spend that kind of money for a fish. But it's weird when the ones who don't want to spend that kind of money on a fish see someone who can buy it, then start calling it "ridiculous" or "stupid". Kinda one sided don't you think?

So let's put our personal choices and limits aside and let's just enjoy the hobby and wherever it takes us.

Bigger balls lol dude you need to slow down, it's about what makes you happy personally i allready have the tank and everything else so the fish is just the icing on the cake. Some people can afford more for someone who has a monster tank this fish is perfect, allready have 2 sold. And the price is determined more or less by the asian market. These gars would normally go to japan or some other country were fish prices are high. Well lets just say it's a free country so you can buy or just look.

this should probaly get closed before somebody else cry's over the price of a fish they don't want or wont pay for or whatever there problem is its really sad when you get flamed so to speak for buying a fish that another person cant afford o well there will always be a immature cry baby around

i can afford these fish but would nver pay tht for a fish

If you can afford the fish and logically have some boundry with spending that much on a fish it just means someone wants that fish or doesn't have that boundry. That's all.

That is your choice and you are entitled to it. But what about people that believe in paying 5,000 or more on a fish , or 10 ? Can we respect their choice without hearing it from others? :)

I spend too much on crap all the time, but much less than others on certain things. It applies to everything.

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it!
