Most people start out buying one bichir... I bought three, and I cannot wait until I get more. They are so unique, I could just watch them all day.


What I think makes them so cool, for me, is that it's like having a missing link between fish and reptile in your tank... You can't help but be amazed. Especially when they are eating, and they grab a chunk of something, toss their head back and start chewing. That's very cool.

i just like how they act toward live foods i got mine cuz i thought my tank needed one i had mine scince it was less than 2'' and ive grown to apperciate it

It's already been mentioned, but they remind me of a dog as well. Just the way they chew. Plus their faces are adorable. (imo)

I got mine as a tank mate for my knife. Wet Willie the senegal has so much personality though, even as a sub-juvie(3"), that I am now plotting for a larger tank so I can get some ornates. I want some delhezi, too...

i saw a ornate bichir that was about 20-22in, i never saw that big of a bichir, didnt know they could get that big.. pretty cool looking...
