WHY ARE CANISTER FILTERS SO GREAT?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Been thinking long and hard about it and since my 150 will be going up after i get married im gonna put $20 away each paycheck which will be $40 a month and save for a fluval 405 or a fx5

cannisters are by far the quietest filters. sumps are the easiest to maintain. hang ons are least expensive. for less money than a fx5 I would do two xp3's. I run an ehiem 2178 and a xp3 on my 120 gal. I clean them once every 4 or 5 months. not a big deal. each filter has it's advantages so it's really up to you. we can all give you our opinions, but we will all go with what we use. I have a lot of money invested in my fish, which is why I run two filters. if one fails I'll have plenty of time to replace it.

well i think im gonna run a emp 400 and a xp3 on my 150 or the xp4 they look like a really good filter

i have read they are a great and easy filter to use and for the price i think its better deal than a fx5

They clean the water soo much better than HOB filters, I noticed a difference within hours of setting up my first one.
