I see regular 3" JDs selling for about £6, but the EB varieties sell for about £60 here in the UK. This is pretty crazy because they seem just as available as the regular sort, theyr not exactly rare here! So why are they so much dearer?

i wouldnt say they are 10 time more beautiful

Because people will pay 10x as much

yeah beauty is opinion of person but they are def more expensive because they are harder to breed and raise and since they cant be bred to each other, only a portion of each batch of fry actually have the ebjd colors

Yes.

EBJDs are weak, genetic mistakes that are normally culled off by natural selection. By breeding them, we are defying nature. On the flip side, it's not much different than modern medicine.

why cant they be bred with eachother. i know siblings shouldnt be bred but why cant they be bred with other non-kin EBs?

It can be done, but the offspring do not turn out as well as you would think. Where I am they are not readily available, but when they are the price goes down a bit.

you cant breed them together because the fry will not live, does anyone have any pics of a ebjd that has made it to 1in that was the result of an ebjd x ebjd breeding? for the most part you have to breed ebjd to bgjd (blue gene) to get 50% ebjd and 50% bgjd, and them be strong enough to survive, Meitnerium, they are a naturally occurring reccessive gene fish that wouldnt survive in the wild because their color doesnt blend in not because they are "mistake", as adults they are just as hardy as regular JDs and most likely their weakness as juvies that we are seeing are from excessive in-breeding not necessarily the gene itself, and what you mean by that modern med remark, so what you dont think we should have ever come up with vaccines and still have millions and millions of people die from disease?
