Well contrary to popular belief all corals eat, and if you feed them they will be happier. That said, removing all nitrates/phosphates from the water also creates a problem for corals... as there photosythisis requires small amounts of both (more nitrates then phosphates) to photosythesise just like plants, so if you suck it all out it will hinder growth and possibly kill the corals unless fed.

This has been my first reef tank and since it has matured and i have upgraded things the water quality has gotten too perfect. I thought cleanest was best but now I know different and am dirtying the tank up a bit per say. My fish are happier too as they are getting fed more as well. LOL. I am going to also try and slow down the algae scrubber by trimming less. every other week instead of every week

I dont get why my clown still prefers the torch coral even though there is a BTA in the tank. Sorry for the reflection of the cup.

Who knows...they pick what they will. At least they didnt settle in a filter intake or something...that would be really boring.
