Why can't ai keep Royal Plecos alive??

Now I need to find where I can get some drift wood. I was hoping to find some locally but my LFS seems to have the Mopani stuff you were talking about. I'm also need to find out if boiling will remove whatever it is the plecos need/want because I don't want to go to all this effort only to ruin it before adding it to the tank. I have read people say to boil drift wood before adding it to their tank but is this still protocol for wood intended for plecos?

A piece bog wood and lots of veggies and he should be fine. My 7" royal would chew thro bog wood like crazy.

I know your water is perfect and yadda yadda...but you cannot expect to keep that many plecos healthy and happy in a 55g long term. Seriously...I'm wondering if they are being stressed out by the overcrowding/being beat up.

I never said my water levels were perfect but they're damn good and that's no mistake. I put a lot of effort into my tank and take pride in my fish. None of my other fish have shown issues and none of the other plecos show signs of stress or being beat up. Even the royals that died showed zero signs of stress or being beat up other than the slightly sunken stomachs and eyes. If you want to blame me that's fine, I've already admitted to probably not supplying adequate nutrition for the royals but don't blame my water conditions because the remaining fish are all plenty healthy.
