Why can't my tank just be good for a day?

the whole reason people dont recommend canisters in saltwater is that you need to clean them out like once a week so your nitrates dont explode

I would sump your tank, its the best thing you can do for it, add some chaeto and ulva, feed out the ulva to your foxface

Thanks guys for the advice I'm getting on it now. Also I'm curious on how do I set up a sump for plants and other life to control this?

I plan on using it for introducing fish and then removing it. I know I will not be introducing anything for a while lol.

Also I just cleaned out my canister about 2 weeks ago.....is their a specific way I should clean out an Fx5 Fluval Canister Filter?

I'm not sure how effective it'll be, but try it out. Put it in a place with TONS of light, and put in the macro algaes i suggested to you earlier.

I'll be ging to the lfs and see what they have. Also i'm guessing the quickest way to do a water change is:

Take out 50% water with a siphon
Fill a 5 gallon bucket with 2 cups of salt (this gives me 1.023) about 7 times lol....not to bad. Also their is no way to siphon the water from the bucket to the tank....right?
