I can't get into reef tanks. To make one look good costs more than I'm willing to spend. I've only seen a few that I really like. Most of the time they look dirty to me.

:iagree: The fish have pretty colors, but I LIKE the look of green plants and driftwood. Rocks look like... rocks... to me. The crushed coral with the ever present brown algae looks like poop. Salt encrusting EVERYTHING looks like crap. The coup de grace is that the synthetic sea salt burns my skin (apparently I am delicate).

Plus, bichirs and catfish are freshwater.

I think saltwater tanks are beautiful, and give credit to those who go through the expense of keeping them.

But my favorite kinds of fish are freshwater, so I stick with that side of the hobby.

As conclusion,FW cheaper,easier,low cost,fish low price(most) rather than SW..

Because Pirarucu FW(maybe).:chillpill:

it all depends what u like i have both and the SW is $$$ to fill with nice corals, i only have a 5ft tank but if u had something like a 500 gal it will prob cost more then 5g's+ to fill it with coral and rocks then u have the equipment like big calcium reactors, big skimmers, lights to think about and if your tank crashes, game over. Planted tanks are loot too
