chico ca
So im a 19 year old kid who is currently attending chico state and just a couple weeks ago i bought a baby arowana and put it in my 30 gallon tank. everything seemed to be going well while i was at home and my arowana was doing great. but i had to go to college so i left my mom with the job of taking care of him for 3 weeks untill i come home for 5 weeks. just today my mom called me with the knews that my fish was dead. i almost cried. so after once i calmed down i tryed to figure out what went wrong with my moms information. i am clueless. i had him in a 30 gallon tank with 2 small geos and black convict. any ideas?

How long did you have your 30g running for?

Oh, and cbobruk is right. Aro has no business in a 30g tank..

Is your mom a fish keeper?

If she is not, chances are she did something wrong. Or the arowanna tried to jump out and hit itself hard...

There are a million reasons what it might be, but in the future, don't trust your fish to others without leaving very specific instructions...preferably written ones.

Baby arowana are not a beginner fish and require more care then just daily feedings

The tank was WAY to small for an arowana (which can get over 2 feet) Also your mom probably did something wrong. Sorry for your loss.

The arowana was only a few inches long it was fine in a 30 for a few months and you all know that. He very well knows that he needs a bigger tank because no one just gets this kind of fish without doing any research, you get this fish because you know what happens to them. Everytime someone asks for help on this site everyone just goes to tank sizes, ALL of you started a majority of your fish in a tank to small for said fish. Now also danny when you post **** on here you have to let people know everything about your situation or they think they are amazon river specialist and are just gona assume what your doing wrong. Next time your fish dies wait to go home check your water and post the conditions of your water as well as the fish to see if there are any signs then some one who really knows what they're talking about will help you, not just give you tank advice.
