I seen many videos of people keeping clown loaches with LARGE agressive tank mates... but they seem to do fine... i never understood why ????
I keep my clown loaches with my xback arowana and NTT datnoid
both at around 12''
they are super agressive towards other tank mates but seem to leave clown loaches alone ? i feed them feeders that are larger than my CL's...
never really understood

Oscars aren't paricularly aggressive but my Oscars all leave even the tiniest Clown Loaches alone. People commonly keep Loaches in schools and I think other fish see them as one huge fish instead of a school of smaller fish.

They have switch blade spines under their eyes...

When I had my endli's they ate 2 cl bigger than their heads, and I caught a 3rd one clamped sideways in the mouth of my endli. I think there skittish movements attracted the poly's. Lesson learned.

mybe the stipes on them appear to be some sort of defense to other fish. or they are just to small to waist energy on.
