why do larger fish leave clown loaches alone ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its the stiletto's. They can be nasty when they need to. Same reason Mbuna dont mess with my tiny skunk loaches. They got a nasty weapon and they dont hesitate to use it.

they do have little spines that stick out under their eyes, but don't think that will stop a hungry monster from eating them. I had 17 in a 400 and when I went to move all my loaches to a separate tank I only had 8 left.

thanks guys, always wondered why my datnoid would stare at them but never strikes.
i knew they had thos blades under their eyes but are other fish really that smart to know ?

On larger fish they aren´t as large relative to body size anymore. On my two 10 inch fish they are only about 2/3 inch long

I had someone tell me that they can also make these vibrate, turning them into one heck of a weapon. Can anyone confirm or deny this claim?

they click they teath at eachother i know that much they are skidish true but they like to hide out and are a streem fish wich are used to stronger curents my guess is they just stronger swimmers then most predators and hide in numbers too the larger fish simply get tired of chasing them and give up when they see them with some exceptions of course

HAHA!! Great way to put that. The more I learn about them, the better I like them!!
