Why do people get so arsey

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Most of the issues when people eyeroll at someone is when the posts that has same people asking the same questions over and over ingoring recommendations and tips over and over driving everyone else nuts not really getting how some people processing in their brain works different than others. Not everyone brain works the same learning information. Another factor into several of the slights/conflicts is more and more people nowadays that could possiblity have austism or learning disabilities might miss hints and cues from others due to it being one dimensional communication. The written word. Dont assume people are being mean on purpose. Everyone has their contribution (except a troll/scammer)

When you have so many people intermingled without face to face conversation many misunderstandings can occur. 95% of the people on here are really nice people IRL. I'm deaf so I love capitalizing on communication I miss out when I'm focusing on the hobby IRL so I benefit more from posting and asking questions online vs in person at the hobby club meetings.

I was in a bad car accident a couple of years back and have forgotten many of things I've loved/learnt about the hobby. Now am relearning many things. Some things I got to repeat myself over and over again before I remember it for good. Got to remember fishkeeping is a relaxing hobby for many of us for various of reasons. I can lose myself for hours working on fish tank maintence and looking at the fish waiting for the reclusive fish to come out and eat. That part I never lost post accident.

I’m glad this post is getting attention and I’m loving the reply’s.

Let’s hear from some of you arsey people the ones who come across as rude and get the hump with people.

why do you get arsey ????

we understand some people don’t listen and don’t accept the answers to questions but some people are just point blank rude and think they know it all when they point blank do not

I'm pretty confident that your request will be largely ignored. Asking all the arsey people to come forward to explain why they're arsey is akin to detecting an awful smelly fart in a crowded room and asking the perpetrator to step forward with a plausible explanation as to why they dropped their guts!

Though saying that i often feel like getting arsey myself, though I never do, with people who come on with problems. They state how desperate they are but can't even be bothered posting ALL the info required to give us a chance of helping them. As the thread goes on dribs and drabs of info filter through and then, after god knows how many posts, we finally start to get a picture.

That really gets me arsey, I just want to shout at them.

Hello, this is a response from one of the sometimes ''arsy'' people. I have asked the common questions of can this fish be in this big of an tank for this certain period of time and gotten a response that went against what I was wanting. Honestly speaking I don't really blow up as much but will sometimes argue over if that tank selection would work and such but the true reason is because i'm trying to clear my conscience. Yes, I know a Jack Dempsey can't truly be kept in a 40 Gallon Breeder all it's life, and yes I know it can't be kept with so & so tankmate but you're just wishing anyone will say yes and clear your conscience so you can say ''yes that'll work'' even while it probably won't, and do it without feeling bad. I've kinda grown out of it as I've had so many instances of those types of situations playing out where like a forum member said it would happen and then one fish was chased to death, and one fish killed another fish, etc. and I gave in to trying to put random fish I liked into one big tank together and let the fish have their own will and choices. I've officially been in the hobby for about 2 years and I've learned so much and grown so much it's truly been a journey!

I want to apologize as I am guilty of this. Im sure most of you guys have seen my post on "ammonia levels are high what do I do". I did this because it was my first proper fish tank and I had no idea what I was doing.

What you describe is exactly what I was referring to in my post #7. I bet many people who come on here and don't get the "correct" info they were looking for just go and do it anyway. And this is probably the best thing that can happen, other than the unfortunate and unnecessary potential suffering to their fish along the way, because it's real life experience. If you find out the hard way for yourself I think you're most unlikely to do it again, and, in future, you may even start paying more attention to those "know alls" on that stupid fish forum!
