The initial purchase of say a tank, filter, decor and fish is often dictated by budget. When we start out we are kind of feeling the waters so to speak. We get comfortable after a while with or tank regimen and soon begin to lose interest. A trip to the local wet pet dealer and that Pacu that always seems to smile when he looks at you pricks your intrest and on an impulse, fully aware of the future with this animal and the inevitable consequences of ownership, we take said fish home an plop him in the tank. "He's only 3"..." I got plenty of time to get a new tank..."

If we are honest, we actually do care what the wife says and she says, "nope."
So now we have to beg.
So that is it. We want what we shouldn't have just by human nature. The people that actually take the initiative to step out of the readily available purchased aquarium and build a monster tank or pond....those are the ones we inside wife pleasers look up to and someday want to be like....
So in a nut shell, it's the guys with balls to build that are to blame....pun intended.
