I forgot about that name...Rollie Pollie!

We used that only for the type that could roll up into a sphere. The rest were just woodlice or the equally unappealing "sow bugs".
Haha, you’re bringing back memories. Ya the one type we called Rollie pollies and the bigger, flat ones we called potato or sow bugs

multi tasking is not my strong suit.

Hell fire Brian, that's quite a remark coming from someone who's just bought their own house and is about to fill it floor to ceiling in every room with fish tanks! Yikes.

Believe it or not John, but here in blighty, where you'd think we'd have a list as long as your leg of different made up names for such creatures....we only have one, as far as I'm aware. And that is woodlice. I suppose that just one, not that you ever see just one, they seem to hang about in gangs, would be called a woodlouse, yes?

Without doubt, along with cockroaches, one of the most successful species ever to have lived on this planet. Man they are old.

We called the terrestrial isopods potato bugs and Rollie Pollies when I was kid, there’s various types all over San Diego.
We used to call them potato bugs in New Jersey. As a kid digging for earthworms for fish bait in my back yard, these were all too common.

Multi tasking online, irl I’m quite excellent. And it’s going slowly, multiple things need to be repaired and the floor will need to be beefed up in the near future. I’m just taking things slow until I get the necessary repairs done which may include removing a chimney.
