well i always been fasinated with fish! ever since my ma got me my first tank with *takes in air* 2 pacus, ive been hooked on fishkeeping. why i started? i have no idea. just popped in my head that i wanted to raise fish so i bugged my mom and her ex ex bf to get me one ( did alot of buying tell my moms ex ex caved in and went to get me my first tank at i think 12 or 1 in the morning from walmart. a 10 galllon to be exact. ) so ya. reason why i keep fish know is well cause im HOOKED and cant see myself without a fishtank! my grandmother is trying to get me to get a new hobby but wont happen. my grandad likes oscars ever since my aunt moved in after my ma died and i have 2 oscars and he likes them. and were gunna boild a plywood tank this winter ( well i will most likly ) that will be a home to 4 or 5 female bettas and some feeder guppys ( the plywood tank will be built after my aunt moves out ) so ya thats all why i keep fish. and they just make me happy watching them grow and grow and well they also keep me sane instead of insane LOL alot of ppl my age ( 20 ) would rather be out drinking and what not. me nope i just sit home and enjoy a cig and watch my fish! think thats it now.

Fish keeping is a Hobby man, not a way of life. Real life is going to pass you by while you're sitting around watching your fish tank. 20 years from now you won't be looking back at your fish tank, you'll be thinking about the memories you created (some may involve fish tanks) not the materilistic things that come and go
My dad has kept fishtanks since before I was born and I'm 11. Now that I can take care of my own tank, I decided to keep fish too becuase I really like them.

anyway, myyyy reasons are as follows:
-ive been around freshwater aquariums my whole life. My mom kept a 30L tank with a wooden double door stand since before i was born, raising gourami's etc. once i hit 7th grade i met a friend who had about 13 tanks, and at least 5 arowana, i was sold.
-to have a sense of caring is very important in life
-i use the fish water to water my plants outside.
-the water flowing in all my tanks gives lifes to my apt, and helps me sleep
-i believe im connected to my fish through telepathic powers.
and come on dudes and dudettes...theyre just so AWESOME!

I keep fish because I like the look of the natural environment of SA fish, and love the challenge of making a natural looking habitat. I also am very interested in animal behavior, so most of the fish I don't like just because they look cool but because its something peaceful and interesting to observe.

I love watching them grow, feeding them tons of food and just watching them, it relaxes me. Sorry about your dog, I know what yoor going threw, it's tough.
