In a way but the farms are partly responsible too. They only "produce" a limited number of new fish to create a demand for it. The farms dictate when they will produce the new strains and how many they will bring out.

They look like they get in the way of the fish to me- you now weighing it down. Sure I think the females can get them - much smaller.
Some can really be pretty and damm expensive. I seen them go for nearly $700.
well i don't know a ton about them but they look pretty cool. i think it's a little silly not to like a specific fish because it's a hybrid. most aquaruim fish are a hybrid of some sort.
okay i just read an atrical about people usueing hormones and chemicals to enhance fish. and once the hormon and/or chemicals wear off the fish loose their color and become lethargic. now i get the argument, this would be wrong. but i see nothing wrong with useing vitamins and minerals to give the fish the best of health.
